Description:
Southern Utah University’s Art Department is seeking models for drawing and painting classes. Models will pose in both draped (clothed) and undraped (nude) forms, providing essential live reference for student artists. Poses may vary from 30 seconds to 20 minutes, with regular breaks during longer sessions.
Responsibilities:
Pose for Art Classes:
*Provide both draped and undraped poses for students, from quick gestures to longer, sustained poses.
Maintain Focus and Stamina:
- Hold poses for extended periods, requiring concentration and physical endurance.
Collaborate with Faculty:
- Work with instructors to ensure a productive and respectful class environment.
Uphold Professional Boundaries:
- Maintain a professional atmosphere, especially during undraped sessions, with sensitivity to all involved.
Qualifications:
Physical Stamina and Flexibility:
- A background in fitness, athletics, dance, or theater is preferred, as these disciplines support strength, flexibility, and endurance.
Comfort with Body Representation:
- Comfort with posing draped or undraped, knowing that student artwork may be displayed publicly or online.
Reliability and Punctuality:
- Commitment to scheduled shifts and punctuality is essential.
Communication:
- Proactively notify of any scheduling conflicts.
Professionalism and Respect:
- A respectful attitude toward the artistic process and community is crucial.
Previous Modeling Experience (Preferred but not required): Experience in art modeling is a plus but not necessary.
